Kathleen Flenniken is the author of Plume (University of Washington Press), winner of a Washington State Book Award and a finalist for the William Carlos Williams Award from the Poetry Society of America, and Famous (University of Nebraska Press), winner of the Prairie Schooner Prize in Poetry and named a Notable Book by the ALA. Other awards include fellowships from Artist Trust and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Pushcart Prize, and a residency at the Bloedel Reserve. Kathleen teaches in the Seattle Public Schools through Jack Straw, Writers in the Schools, and other arts agencies, and was a Distinguished Visiting Writer at Seattle University in 2013 and 2015. She served as Washington State Poet Laureate from 2012 – 2014.
