The open mike starts at 8:00 (with sign-up prior to that). Allen will come on between 8:40 and 8:50 and give us 20 minutes or so of work.

ALLEN BRADEN is the author of A Wreath of Down and Drops of Blood and Elegy in the Passive Voice. He has received fellowships from the NEA and Artist Trust. His poems recently appeared in The World Is Charged: Poetic Engagements with Gerard Manley Hopkins. Allen grew up on a farm outside White Swan, Washington, and lives in Lakewood.

Allen is the recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a residency from the Poetry Center and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His poems have appeared in such publications as the Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Shenandoah, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Witness.
