Slametan for Sam Hamill. Join us as we gather to read poems by or for poet/translator/essayist Sam Hamill in a celebration of the life of the Founder of Copper Canyon Press and Poets Against The War. A display of the epic book Habitations will be part of the celebration. July 23 marks 100 days after the death of Sam on April 14, 2018.
A copy of the book, Habitations, will be on display. Habitations is a collection of paintings by Ian Boyden, painted in response to poems by Sam Hamill. The poem was then laser-etched right into the painting.
