While Easy Speak’s primary emphasis is the open mike forum, we do feature one 20-minute time slot each night to showcase either a literary artist or musician.
Most of our featured artists are solicited rather than chosen from unsolicited requests. However, we do welcome your interest and we can be persuaded to add your name to our list of potential featured performers.
We recruit featured performers on a 6 month cycle. The recruiting team meets in spring and fall to determine the next round of recruitment.
If you are interested in getting on our list for consideration to be a featured performer, please send us:
• If a writer or poet, send 3 to 5 pages of work
• if you are a musician, an audio sample;
• Resume, including publication record plus links where possible
• a short note telling us why you think you’d be a good fit.
We also strongly suggest that you make your way to our open mike events and join in. It will help you to find out who we are and develop some notions about how your work might enrich us.
