For a couple decades, DAN RAPHAEL has been active in the Northwest as poet, performer, publisher and reading host. Everyone in This Movie Gets Paid, his 19th book, came out June 1st from Last Word Press in Olympia. Previous books include The State I’m in, from nine muses books, and Impulse & Warp: The Selected 20th Century Poems, from Wordcraft of Oregon. Current poems appear in Caliban, Basalt, In Between Hangovers, Otoliths and Unlikely Stories. Dan is known for his energetic and thought-expanding performances, in places like Bumbershoot, Portland Jazz Festival. Cascadia Poetry Festival, Red Sky and Twisted Poetry Salon. He edited NRG magazine for 17 years, then published 26 Books—28 26 page chapbooks by 26 OR & WA poets.
